The objective of the program is for the student to become proficient singing in which ever style (pop, classical, blues, jazz country...) the student chooses. The following skills will be introduced and developed: • Reading standard musical notation as applied to the voice. • The study of technical exercises to help develop range, tone and facility. • The study of scales, arpeggios and music theory • To develop a repertoire of performance pieces. It is important that the musical fundamentals studied are applied in the performance and memorization of various compositions for the voice. This includes compositions from many different styles of music. Classical, jazz, blues, rock and country are some of the styles that are addressed. |
