Chris Eaton’s music career began in the third grade playing acoustic bass and performing in the school orchestra. By age nine he was playing guitar and recording his own music. Learning drums at age eleven, he formed his first band in which he was a featured lead vocalist. Early influences from his musical family gave him an appreciation of many styles of music and the desire to join every High School band available. When he wasn’t performing with the school jazz band or symphonic band, he was playing in local rock bands at various events. His passion for music motivated him through years of studying and practice, eventually earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music at SJSU.

Chris started teaching music in the early 80’s when his instructor left the local music store and asked Chris to take over the teaching job for all of his students. Through the years he has enjoyed success working with students of all levels and all ages. Currently, he teaches privately in his music studio and provides introductory music lessons at his children’s elementary school as a parent volunteer.

As a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, Chris has performed a broad spectrum of music styles from Classical to Heavy Metal and everything in between. He has played in numerous Bay Area festivals, clubs, casinos and concert halls performing with Bobby McFerrin, Sheila E., Jerry Garcia, Pete Escovito, Tobie Keith, and Ritchie Coleto name a few. In local rock, country and jazz groups he has opened for Bryan White, Foghat, Leroy Parnell and Lari White. He has performed in the house band for several years in California's largest county bar "The Saddle Rack."

As a composer and producer, he has written and arranged a wide variety of music in various styles. He has two self produced solo albums (on which he played all the instruments) and his music can be found on iTunes. Chris has composed music for television, radio and video. Some of the sounds heard on his recordings were either designed or edited by himself and some of these patches can be seen published in Keyboard Magazine.

Before retiring to pursue a full time career in music, he was a manager at GPI Publications (home of Guitar Player, Keyboardand Bass Player Magazines) where his duties included musical product reviews. While Chris can still be found performing all over California, he also owns and operates his own studio where he provides music lessons and is currently working on a new solo album.
